When the rest of the country thinks, "Silicon Valley," they're likely thinking of Palo Alto. Palo Alto counts some of the biggest names in tech as residents, including Hewlett-Packard and Tesla Motors. Many concentrated in the Stanford Research Park on Page Mill Road.
Both highways 101 and 280 run through Palo Alto as you head south from San Francisco, down the peninsula, and into Silicon Valley. Palo Alto shares a northwestern border with East Palo Alto and Menlo Park, while Stanford (home to Stanford University) makes up its western border. Mountain View and Los Altos are neighbors to the southeast, as you head further into Silicon Valley. Palo Alto is served by Caltrain at University Avenue and California Avenue.
