Health and Safety Policy for The Addition
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Health and Safety Policy is to outline the procedures and practices in place at The Addition to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all members, visitors, and staff. Our goal is to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses by maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy workspace.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all members, visitors, and staff of The Addition.
3. Responsibilities
Management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Provide training and resources to staff.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
Maintain emergency procedures and equipment.
Staff
Follow health and safety procedures.
Report any hazards or incidents to management immediately.
Participate in health and safety training sessions.
Members and Visitors
Adhere to all posted health and safety guidelines.
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to staff.
Follow emergency procedures when necessary.
4. General Safety Guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Ensure clear access to emergency exits and equipment.
Avoid blocking walkways and ensure cables and cords are secured.
Use equipment and tools according to instructions and guidelines.
5. Emergency Procedures
Fire Safety
Familiarize yourself with the location of fire exits, alarms, and extinguishers.
In case of fire, activate the nearest fire alarm and evacuate the building immediately.
Do not use elevators during a fire evacuation.
Assemble at the designated meeting point outside the building.
Medical Emergencies
In case of a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately.
Provide first aid if trained and if it is safe to do so.
Inform staff of the incident as soon as possible.
Evacuation
Follow the instructions of staff and emergency services during an evacuation.
Use the nearest and safest exit route.
Do not re-enter the building until it is declared safe by emergency personnel.
6. Health Guidelines
Hygiene
Wash hands regularly with soap and water.
Use hand sanitizers provided throughout the workspace.
Dispose of waste properly in designated bins.
Illness Prevention
Do not come to the coworking space if you are feeling unwell.
Inform staff if you have been diagnosed with a contagious illness and have recently visited the space.
Follow guidelines on vaccinations and health screenings as applicable.
COVID-19 Specific Measures
Maintain physical distancing as per current guidelines.
Wear face masks in common areas if required by local health authorities.
Adhere to enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols.
7. Reporting and Investigation
Report all accidents, injuries, and near-misses to staff immediately.
Management will investigate all incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain a log of all reported incidents and the measures taken.
8. Training
Provide health and safety training to all new staff and members.
Conduct regular refresher training sessions.
Ensure staff are trained in emergency response and first aid.
9. Review and Update
Review this policy annually or as needed to ensure compliance with current regulations and best practices.
Update procedures and guidelines based on feedback and incident reports.
