Greenmeadow Room
Minimum of two people with a MAXIMUM 2 hour limit per group per day. Reservations made for longer than two hours will be reduced by the library to the two-hour limit. Groups may not exceed the capacity of the room.
Working space is well equipped with computer with: USB port, wireless mouse, keyboard, flat screen TV/monitor, white board.Rooms are equipped with a monitor that can be connected to your computer with an HDMI or Airtame connection. Adapters are available to check out with a Palo Alto City Library card. Reservations will be cancelled after 15 minutes if you do not show. Check in at the front desk.

When you connect, you will need to accept the use policy. To reconnect after 2 hours, simply accept the use policy again. -No password or library card needed. -Wifi sessions last 2 hours.

Conference Rooms available to reserve up to a week in advance. Due to high demand for study room usage, a maximum of one 2-hour booking (or 2 one-hour bookings) per individual/group is allowed per day. Please do not place multiple bookings under different individuals/names to exceed daily limit. Duplicate group bookings will be cancelled. Thank you for your cooperation. Rooms are equipped with a monitor that can be connected to your computer with an HDMI or Airtame connection. Reservations will be cancelled after 15 minutes if you do not show. Really great room I enjoyed this area the only thing is these private rooms keep getting all booked so this was the only one and I was scared I would get kicked out since it was a 2 person required space so I hope it was ok technically it was two if you count my zoom tutor

Great resource in the community. Had to hunt to find the video cable connection, but once we did it worked fine. Too bad the display screen wasn't a littler larger, it's small for someone at the end of the table.

It was great. I wish they didn’t start coming to see whether you’re leaving 15 minutes before the end time- adding unnecessary pressure. The library staff even unlocked the door and opened it when I had 2 minutes left even though no one was waiting for the room.

The room itself was okay, although I like the other room better for having a better background color on the wall with the plug that I use for my computer. This wall becomes the background color for Google Meet and the interview that was taking place. There was a confused older man who knocked loudly on the door saying "make copy" a couple of times while I was in the room. The librarian got him to stop the disturbance fairly quickly, but it would have been nice if he didn't disturb me in the first place. I had a little trouble connecting, although the librarian was able to solve this. I am calling the person who sits at the desk and manages the rooms a librarian, although they may be volunteers. Often this person is not there or anywhere in sight at the time I have reserved the room, so perhaps there is a need to have additional staffing, volunteer or otherwise.

Very much appreciate your making the room available. Library staff & the reservation system were both was great. The room was clean & nice & we had a good meeting. Two things to consider. Our monthly meeting lasts for 2 hours. Would be so good, for us, to be able to reserve a 2.5 hour block to allow time for setup & teardown. The other thing is that the room could use a bit of sound dampening which would improve the ambiance & functionality of the room a lot! Thx!

I wanted a space where I could quietly practice my power point presentation I'm giving overseas. The library did not honor my request bc my partner ended up not being able to attend. I asked to simply stay until another party wanted to use the space but they again denied the request. I saw the space was empty the entire time I had booked it for. In this particular situation, using liquidspace was useless.

The conference rooms are a really, really great public library resource/ service. The Liquid Space booking system is AWESOME. I don't take this for granted. I've come to expect *terrible* systems for things like public resource reservations, this is just the opposite. I commend the team that selected the system and placed value on good design and functionality. Keep it up and let management know that this is important to patrons!
I would give input for the Mitchell Park conference rooms-- install an HDMI connection to the monitors pretty please. It's available at the Rinconada branch. HDMI is the industry standard now, typically expected. It gives higher image quality, includes audio & video in one cable and automatically sets the display to match the user's computer- **including high resolution.** It is "smart" to make technical setup more automatic with ***less need for IT support***. A big deal for efficient conf room management, saving time and requiring less technical expertise to provide high user satisfaction.

Looks like the two available rooms are quite popular. I was lucky to be able to book a room at the desired time. Wonder if the fact that there isn't a "no show" fee might encourage over-booking. How about a minimal no-show fee (even $1, like you have for not picking up a reserved book) if this proves to be a problem.
The LiquidSpace app works great for booking the rooms and sending the meeting info to participants.

The workspace is great, but the booking process is not very flexible. I need this room at this time every third Monday of the month, but the only way to get it is to re-book it every time.

The staff were very helpful and the room is very nice with excellent noise insulation. They even loan you a MAC display adaptor to connect up your mac to the TV Screen and work with you to see if you have a productive and pleasant meeting.
HOWEVER - please note the following:
1. The Audio-Visual setup is a little funky - It takes a little figuring out to get your monitor to display correctly on the TV screen.
2. The TV Audio is *very* low quality - If you end up connecting your laptop to the audio system to have the sound play through the central speakers, be prepared for a very tinny rendition which moreover has constant background white noise even at mid-level. Eventually, I unplugged my mac and played the audio through my MBP's speakers which turned out to be awesome because the room holds the sound quite well. RECOMMENDATION - the audio setup is bad, but ultimately doesn't matter because you get much much better and louder audio straight from your MBP.
3. Getting your Mac's screen to project well on the TV is close to impossible - Your MBP's native resolution is 1440x900 and the TV doesn't provide a good enough mach to any of the modes - The font's are rendered blurry too, but with sufficient magnification seems ok.
4. Finally - This is a big issue: The lights in the ceiling: O Boy - We had to set them to the lowest possible setting so the TV screen could be seen comfortably - The reflection is simply too strong from practically any angle!

There was no VGA cable to connect my laptop to the TV, so when I used the TV Library account, it worked but logged me off repeatedly, way too quickly.

This space is an incredible free resource for Palo Alto residents. The space is lovely and large, though the projector hook up took two of the library's staff to get working. Also, for my purposes the screen is too visible from outside the windlow because I am showing confidential videos of clients.

We couldn't get the aspect ratio of the screen to come out right, whether we were using it with the library's computer or connecting it to our own.
There were only four of us in the room, but the room felt stuffy after about an hour. We didn't want to keep the door open so as not to disturb other people in the library.
A pay-per-cup coffee machine would also be a nice addition.
