There is more to the Valley than signature Valley Girl vocab, "like totally whatever". Escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and head to this large expansive area which includes hubs of Burbank, Studio City, Encino, Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks. Although not the trendiest area of Los Angeles, this mainly residential zone has burgeoning industry and smatterings of local culture.

A 20 minute scenic drive down Coldwater Canyon, passing famous Mulholland Drive, will take you into Studio City. Some may argue this area has the best sushi in the city. It is where Katsuya and Sugarfish got their start. Don't be surprised if you see a movie star walking down Ventura Boulevard after a meeting at the Universal Lot. If shopping is your thing, you will find it at Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Encino or Woodland Hills. There is a flourishing night life scene in the North Hollywood Art District. It is hard to say easily accessible in Los Angeles, but with highways 101, 405 and 5 crossing through the Valley you always have accessible transportation options. The Bob Hope Airport located in the Valley is a hidden gem for travelers who don't want to fight the crowds at LAX.
