The distinctive red and cream Bentonville Plaza Center is the tallest and most prominent building in Bentonville. The Class-A building was built in 2004; the center opened in October 2007 and its décor and furnishings are new. There are many retail and wholesale trades in the area, with two establishments employing over 500 people. The city is famous for being the HQ of Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer.
