StartDock Coworking - Herengracht

The big heavy vault in the basement betrays the original identity of this building. Years ago, you could find stacks of cash, diamonds and ancient relics of incomprehensible value from the customers of the ABN-AMRO bank. Today, you find a Chesterfield sofa and a foosball table. We have a slightly different interpretation of how to use this room than was initially intended. We kept the stately look and feel of the building, including the chandelier, but we swapped out the stuffy natural inhabitants for a bunch of colorful and animated entrepreneurs. The Herengracht is mostly home to entrepreneurs at the start of their career, freelancers and small start-ups. There is great solidarity in the community and the living room is always full during the shared lunchtime. Everybody feels comfortable to share their knowledge and help each other during informal or internal events. Everywhere you look, you will find someone who wants to help you grow, so when you’re stuck, there is always a competent coworker.
