Extended Network
Perfekt Futur is the foundation center for creatives in the former pig market hall at the Alter Schlachthof Karlsruhe. The provision of unusual and inexpensive rooms and industry-specific support should make it easier for founders to start their own business. The Perfect Futur business start-up center forms a central component of the conversion of the old slaughterhouse, which has been implemented since the slaughterhouse was shut down in 2006 and is now largely complete.
Inspiring spaces – in the Perfect Futur this means a city made of 68 converted sea freight containers. Equipped with windows and doors and connected by steel stairs, they form self-contained work cells and open communication zones on three floors. The container units of different sizes offer space for private thinking or for working in a group. They are unfurnished and left in a neutral condition, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to individually design their workspace. The café in the entrance area with an outdoor seating area is the central contact point and meeting place for users and guests.
In terms of content, the Perfect Futur is supervised by an interdisciplinary team made up of the K³ Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe and the Karlsruher Fach GmbH & Co. Stadtentwicklungs-KG (KFE). KFE, which is responsible for the Alter Schlachthof conversion project, operates the Perfect Futur as the owner and landlord. The K³ office, founded in 2012 as a joint facility of the cultural office of the cultural office and the Karlsruhe Economic Development Agency, offers, among other things, networking events, workshops and seminars on the subject of business start-ups as well as free personal consultations.
