The Cottages Contact Tracing - Health and Safety Policy
To our valued members and guests:
Your health and safety is our top priority. Therefore as we follow the quickly developing environment around Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are implementing new policies to help us prevent the spread of the virus and limit the impact on our community. Thank you for reading this and supporting our efforts!
Cottages Testing & Contact Tracing Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Free COVID-19 testing is available in California for US Citizens and VISA holders who have insurance or government issued identification. Turnaround time is now within 48 hours. We require that all guests provide proof prior to starting their contract term, regardless of rental start date, as there are immuno-compromised guests among us. We shall not let commerce get in the way of precious human life and potential.
Long term guests are required to be tested, as the host(s) will be, for COVID-19 every 3 weeks. If you need assistance for paying for your COVID-19 test, just provide us with the invoice and we will discount you for that amount. We are pro contact tracing so please upon ending your contract with us, we will require a fee-free notarized declaration that contact tracing will not be needed and that your decision to leave is not related to your exposure to the deadly virus. Without your declaration, we will assume contact tracing is necessary.
Stop Community Spread and Flatten the Curve
Cottages only relies on 2 sources for recommendations to stop community spread, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In fact, we are adamant that no information disseminated from any representative hired by the White House and the Trump Administration can be, nor will be trusted. Therefore, we are implementing the following enhanced health and safety policies.
We are implementing enhanced cleaning procedures in our locations to protect our employees, members and guests. These include;
Cleaning shared surfaces regularly with disinfectant.
Providing hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes.
Asking our members and guests to properly wash your hands before and after using common surfaces.
Sanitize common surfaces that you have used with wipes available including, countertops, appliances, knobs and handles, toilet, etc.
Please follow these important guidelines about hygiene:
Wash your hands frequently and properly. A guide can be found here: www.who.int/gpsc/clean_hands_protection
Use your arm or sleeve when coughing or sneezing, not your hands, and use hand sanitizer regularly. Wash your hands. (It’s a theme.)
Please dispose of tissues immediately and wash hands or use sanitizer any time you have used tissues. (There’s that hand-washing again!)
Refrain from touching your nose or mouth. If you do, please wash your hands afterwards. (In case you forgot.)
We will be limiting shared kitchen services including coffee, refreshment and snack service as well as limiting the use of reusable utensils and drinkware during this time. Single use items may still be served as available in the kitchen but we apologize for any inconvenience this limited service may have.
If You Are Sick
For the safety of our coworkers and community, we are asking members who are displaying even mild flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough and cold to stay home. Please! Not only is this common courtesy, it will help you recover more quickly and keep your immune system strong.
Please notify our staff of your COVID-19 test results.
As the United States moves up the list for the highest rates of infections and death, Cottages considers domestic travel, especially airline travel, to be considered equally dangerous and just as life threatening as travel to CDC posted high risk locations.
The preferred zoom meetings for conducting business, sheltering in place, wearing a mask, and social distancing reduces those risks among community members and our extended friends and family members. Plus, it is essential to managing community spread!
For our employees, members and guests. If you plan to travel by airline domestically or to high-risk areas (China, Italy and other areas as updated by the CDC), you are required to notify everyone in our community of your plan [proactive contact tracing]. You are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days when you return as per the CDC. Returning to the Cottages community will require a COVID-19 positive test result even after quarantine.
Masks are required in all common areas. Interactive meetings require masks both indoors and outdoors. Flexible mask wearing (below the nose and while eating and drinking) is acceptable in quiet spaces where there is no ongoing talking or singing and where barriers are present. Lunch meetings are forbidden unless 100% online.
Finally, we have policies in place and will communicate further to implement closures and further cleaning protocols if we are notified that any person that has used our space recently is diagnosed with COVID-19. Contact tracing procedures will then be initiated.
Thank you for putting the health and safety of our employees, members, guests and local community first! We are closely following the Cottages contact tracing and immuno-compromised protections as well as the conservative recommendations by the WHO and CDC and will provide updates as needed. In the meantime, thank you for helping continue to keep our welcoming community healthy and safe!
