Look for makeX in Room V, Cubberley Community Center, Fridays 4:15-6 PM & Saturdays 3-6 PM. makeX, Palo Alto, is a space for creating, designing and making. Equipment such as a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, sewing machine, power tools, jewelry making tools, etc., are available to the public to use for FREE. Laser cutter supports one project at a time & includes a computer to use for loading, editing, and printing designs. Sewing machine available for public use. Must bring your own supplies such as fabric and sewing thread. An ironing board and iron is available for use when using the sewing machine. In addition, there is a small supply of sewing needles. makeX, in Palo Alto, CA 94306 is located on Middlefield Road, in between E. Charleston and San Antonio Roads. makeX is about a 20-minute walk from the San Antonio Caltrain Station, and is close to the Middlefield & Montrose and Middlefield & Charleston bus stops. The studio space is also near a variety of eateries, such as Greek, Thai, and Japanese, among others. Mentors are on hand to provide basic training and support. Users of the space must bring their own materials. The public is free to use the tools and equipment available.
